Press-Citizen names new general manager
Dan Brown, a lifelong Iowa City resident who has been with the Press-Citizen for 18 years, most recently as director of advertising and marketing, was named general manager of the newspaper on Wednesday.
The Press-Citizen also announced Wednesday that it was laying off four employees, in addition to the circulation staff that will be affected by the changes in printing and distribution. On July 2, the Press-Citizen’s parent company, Gannett, announced there would be company-wide layoffs in its U.S. Community Publishing Division. The layoffs are a result of the economic problems many companies across the country continue to battle.
