Tentative rollout schedule set for GPCs
Gannettoid.com | news@gannettoid.com | Posted: Oct. 8, 2009 • Morning report
Gannett appears to have a starting point for its plans to transition ad production services from its newspapers to consolidated centers in Des Moines and Indianapolis.
Although executives had said during a Sept. 10 conference call they were expecting to have a rollout schedule for the transition set by the next week, the one released Tuesday appears to be the first draft released of such a schedule.
The schedule is called "VERY tentative" by Austin Ryan, Gannett's vice president of operations, and draws notice to a potential issue with the plan for Fort Myers, which is the only paper planned for a Feb. 22, 2010, switch.
Overall, the conversions span slightly more than 11 months, beginning Nov. 2 with Des Moines and Iowa City and ending Oct. 11, 2010, with St. George.
